Pres. Obama comes to Camp Lejeune!

President Obama came to Camp Lejeune yesterday to give his speech on withdrawing troops from Iraq! It was pretty cool watching him on TV knowing he is only 10 minutes away! The speech was closed to the public, so I wasn't actually able to go or you know I would have been there! They gave out a specific number of tickets to each unit and those Marines got to go. Two people from Antonio's platoon went, but he didn't go. Even though it was closed to the public, Mandi went to see if she could catch a glimpse of the President. She didn't see Obama but she did get a whole bunch of cool pictures of Marine One.

How funny

I put Emily's hair in a pony tail and left her to watch Pocahontas. Minutes later she came crawling up to me like this....I guess she didn't want her hair in a pony tail!
And my dog clearly thinks she is a 65 lb cat. Sigh.....

Wilmington Children's Museum

Yesterday we took Emily to the Children's Museum in Wilmington. She had so much fun, she didn't even mind that we were WAY off schedule! She did great and had a blast! There are tons of pics and I can't decide which ones to put up, so just bear with me.
It was her first day with the car seat facing forwards! She was so happy!
Sitting on the shark!
In the boat room!
Of course she found the lolly pop!
She has been standing up all on her own a lot lately, especially yesterday! What a big girl!
In the toddler room! She loved it in here
She found puzzles like the ones we have at home and was thrilled! Daddy helped her out!

Looking the funny mirrors in the circus room.
Daddy showing her how to use the tambourine. She was more interested in throwing the instruments. She thought that was hysterical. We didn't. We moved on.
Here we are in the black room! It was really cool!
Daddy and Emily on the green screen!

Smile!

Then we went to the camping room, where they had some crayons out to color. She just helped daddy out and didn't do much drawing at all. But she did try to eat them, once.
What daddy and Emily made me. Thanks guys!
We went to lunch at O'Charley's. It was so good. I gave her a french fry. Yum!
Yesterday was Mandi's birthday too! So I made her a cake!
And we sang her Happy Birthday and her blow out the candles (with Maya's help)! Happy Birthday Mandi!

Bubble Bath

Mandi bought Emily her first bottle of bubble bath! Its Watermelon scented and has Elmo on it! This was our 2nd try. The first time I did not have my camera (so unlike me, I know) and she just SAT THERE and didn't move at all! She was scared to death of the bubbles. Not this time. She was all about it!

She kept trying to eat the bubbles. She never really did catch on that they didn't taste all that great.
Chewing on her duck's butt. Yum.
She looks so innocent. Trust me, she's not.

Antonio's post!

Antonio is home from ship now and when he was on he took some great pictures! I guess I really am rubbing off on him!

The one on the left he said is a French ship that was training with them.
I don't know exactly what its called (though I'm sure he's told me) but thats something that can drive on water and on land. Pretty cool, I guess.
Sunrise over the water.
His view of Onslow Beach (thats where we were at taking picture, but on a much nastier day).
Thats where he slept, the 3rd one up. They fit 4 bunks in a room, so 16 guys to a tiny room. Claustrophobic much?
And my lovely husband. Good job with the pics dear. :)

Thanks Grandpa!

Dad sent me and Emily flowers for Valentine's Day. They're so nice! I put them in a nice high spot so I won't die from allergies! Just kidding, I love them!

Training in progress

This morning, Emily and I went to the beach with Mandi, Maya, and our friend Elizabeth. Trust me, all though the weather has been beautiful the past week, it is definitely NOT nice enough to go to the beach yet. Especially today! It was yucky, a little rainy, chilly, and just generally yucky. Sure we're nuts, but we got a good tip that the ships the guys are training on were close enough to the shore to see! Definitely not something you get to see everyday! We were even hoping to get to see them storm the beaches, but it started to rain pretty hard, so we got out of there. Of course I took a bunch of picture anyway!

One of this ships WAY out there!
Another one you can't see as well.
Just another boat :)
Me and Emily at the beach. Thats a boat WAY out there in the back. Thats how far away they actually were from shore. Ah, the power of ZOOM.
Emily and her BFFL, Maya. Might I add, it was totally unplanned that they both wore their hoodies with ears. Emily is a bunny and Maya is a bear. They are just too cool for school.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Yesterday we bought a card for Daddy at Walmart, and I got the bright idea of letting Emily sign her very own name on it!

Thats the front of the card
And thats the inside! I had to help her along a lot of course. She wanted to chew on the pen more that anything. We are definitely NOT ready for crayons. Daddy won't get his card today, he is still training.
This is her outfit today! I know we have our holidays mixed up. Bunnies are for Easter, hearts are for Valentines. But she is wearing pink! And lots of it! I just thought it was super cute!
