Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day! Yesterday we bought a card for Daddy at Walmart, and I got the bright idea of letting Emily sign her very own name on it!
Thats the front of the card
And thats the inside! I had to help her along a lot of course. She wanted to chew on the pen more that anything. We are definitely NOT ready for crayons. Daddy won't get his card today, he is still training.
This is her outfit today! I know we have our holidays mixed up. Bunnies are for Easter, hearts are for Valentines. But she is wearing pink! And lots of it! I just thought it was super cute!

Board dinner!
Last night some of the girls from the Board went out to dinner at Applebees!
Smiling so big you can see her molars in the back of her mouth!
Here is her buddy Xavier! He is gorgeous!
Here is all of us (I totally stole this picture from Mandi)! Minus Amy. She's from Jersey too, her hubby is leaving to deploy very soon, so she just stopped in really quick to say hi! We have these dinner (or lunches) a lot. They're so much fun!

Big Update
The last few days have been tough. I had been starting to feel sick Thursday, just in time for Antonio to leave on ship Friday. The next morning Emily woke up with it too, and we've been battling it for the last couple of days. Saturday was the day we were both feeling the worst I think.
That morning she didn't even make it through Sesame Street. She was just too pooped, poor baby.
But by yesterday we had started to feel a little bit better. And the weather changed too! It was almost 80 degrees outside! I opened the windows to air out the house, and Amy was thrilled.
And since her nose wasn't running too bad, I decided maybe some fresh air would do us some good. So we went out side to play, and she was gone, baby, gone! She was thrilled that I let her crawl to the end of the drive way. Let me tell you, she is fast!
She practiced walking with Mandi for a while! She pushes it out really far in front of her and they has to hurry up and catch up with it. Its pretty funny to watch, but I guess she's always had her own way of doing things.
She had such a good time outside! Today is another beautiful day, and tomorrow is supposed to be too, so if she is feeling up to it we will probably be back out there, even if it is just for a little bit.
Today we was Emily's 12 month check up. She weight 19 pounds 12 ounces and was 28 1/4 inches long. She is in the 25 percentile for both. So she is a tiny kid. But her head is still big! Its in the 90 percentile! Big Meli head! She had to have her hand pricked for the lead test, and didn't even care, until she saw the blood. Then she whined a little bit until they gave her a Bugs Bunny band aid. That kept her very happy. The doctor was very please at how she's doing and we don't have to go back until she is 18 months.
After the doctor left we still had to have shots. The way they do it here is you get the shots and then have to wait 20 minutes for them to check the spots and make sure there are no reactions. What a drama queen! After she got her shots, she cried for the ENTIRE 20 minutes! Seriously. She scared all the other children! One kid said "Mommy, I don't wanna go in anymore" Oh Emily.
I also had a KV meeting yesterday. We found out when Antonio's pre deployment leave is going to be and got more of an idea of when he is going to be leaving on the deployment. I can't believe it is coming around to that time again!
Well that was one big update for you! Got to get things done before Emily wakes up from her nap

Emily and the Balloon
So after I ruined all my cloths yesterday by washing them with chap stick (I'm still really pissed) Mandi and baby Maya were nice enough to take me and Emily out to Chili's for dinner! Yummy! And the nice waitress gave Emily a balloon! She was all about the attention, of course! And we got a great picture of her with the balloon (as seen here).
But after we went back to our food (black beans and rice and a veggie pita mmmm take me back now) Emily started to notice the balloon. She would look up at it with sheer TERROR in her eyes and then duck down as low as she could in her highchair to try to get away from the evil yellow balloon! Then she would look up and realize it was still there, still with that look of fear on her face! Poor kiddo. Mommy and Mandi got a few good laugh out of it, but then we gave the balloon to a kid at the next table, and Miss Emily was all smiles again!

Little Hoarder
When I was making Emily's lunch I noticed something in the hood of her sweatshirt.
Upon closer investigation I realized they were some of her toys from the living room.
There is a square, a star, a triangle, a ball, and a lemon. Don't ask me how she did it.
On a not so funny note, I washed ALL of my clothes and some of Antonio's with red cherry chap stick. So they have pink grease stains on them. After soaking them and scrubbing them using Dawn dish detergent (a trick I had heard of) they are totally ruined. I washed them about 4 times so far, but I'm admitting defeat. So off to buy new clothes. Normally shopping would make me happy, but I'm so upset.

Rockstar
These are for Aunt Kaity and Al, who picked out her adorable shirt. I got her the sunglasses and we've been playing with them this afternoon.
My little Rockstar!
Such a scholarly baby!
Of course the glasses wound up right in her mouth. She is cutting her 1 year molars and is chewing on EVERYTHING.
90% adorable 10% trouble. Yep, thats my kiddo. Though, sometimes I think she's a little more trouble than that!
My husband yesterday at Target. I swear, I have two toddlers at home.

Superbowl and a Spoon
I had these pictures already to go for me to blog yesterday so please excuse me for not. You would think after our busy weekend I would have totally crashed yesterday, but no, I like to punish myself and ran about a million and 1 errands. Today I am feeling it though.
Sunday, the day after the party, we got up and went and had Emily's one year photo's taken along with some family pictures. They came out SO GOOD! It'll be about 2 weeks before they're in, so wait on the egde of your seats! I am.
Then after that we went to watch the Superbowl at our friends Mike and Stevie's house. Emily dressed for the occasion (sort of) in the Giants Cheerleader out fit Aunt Kaity got her for her birthday! She looked so cute, even though the Giants weren't playing. And Daddy didn't even mind, she was THAT adorable!
Oh yeah, and she was holding her play chicken wing and french fries she also got for her birthday from Mandi. She got a whole bunch of different kinds of play food, but the chicken wing and fries were just oh so appropriate for the Superbowl, don't you agree?
She was even kind enough to share her plastic chicken wing with Daddy. Delicious!
And then yesterday we practiced some with using a spoon! She did really well! I have to scoop for her, but then I hand it to her and she eats it all up! Here she is eating her chicken and stars soup. Yum!
